Pretty Pity

Lyrics of practice

"Quin plor més gran que duc A dins del meu poc cos Quin raig de foc que sento

A dintre meu"

-Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagès

Even tho some feelings are terrible to feel, like sorrow, guilt, shame, void, confusion…

They can be beautifully expressed by their description and the ornament of their definition

for instance, pity can be pretty by the interpretation of its visuals: “an overcast of darkness and flint, a runaway colt that doesn't know where it's going, a desert of sand, an imprisoned glory”

Es lo mismo que un nublado

De tiniebla y pedernál

Es un potro desbocado que no sabe donde va

Es un desierto de arena, pena

Es mi gloria de un penal

- Quintero, León y Quiroga (Ay, pena, penita, pena)

Or the voicing of words without letters, to sing from the empty life:

Canto a la vida plena

Des de la vida buida

Tanco els ulls, baixo el cap

La sang em puja al cap

I el cor em diu que sí

El cervell diu que sí

I tot en mi és un sí

Que mai no acabarà

Canto a la vida sí!

- Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagès (A la vida)

and the mystery analogue of contradictions, that disturbed all calm but at the same time, it gives birth in the soul a hope of love.

El misterio de tus ojos

Ha turbado toda mi calma

Y hace nacer en mi alma

Una esperanza de amor…

- Sílvia Pérez Cruz (Mechita)
