Lesson 26
*Community yoga Mangawhai
Developing a personal practice .
“Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle”.
— Lewis Carrol, Alice in Wonderland.
Hola people!
A “theme” for a class is not necessary but is important for the practice.
The creative process of my classes begins with “a thought” that has been inspired by my circumstances.
Then I “play” with that idea from an angle of simplification with a pinch of mystery, manufacturing a sensation that keeps my interest, allowing for the creation of a “sublime experience”; And the best way for me to articulate it is through poetry.
This is not a poem that cloistered by its forms (sentences), rather liberated by its intentions, is overall a perspective.
So, I come up to my yoga mat with curiosity and the self-induction of been surprise.
Where do I feel it physiologically?, from the rhythms of heart and breath to the tension of the muscles of the face and head; What is its energetic tone when I think about it?; and How I can use this to hold my attention and ease my movement.
The answers that I found, nourish the language that I use to guide my students during the practice.
Expressing not just the meaning of nonsense, rather it's significant, in the joy of being ourselves, alive and aware.
Class starts at 6:30 pm, every Tuesday at the Anglican Church in Mangawhai, please arrive at least 5 minutes before.
Entry: Koha
*Community yoga is all about sharing. it is for everybody willing to explore; The aim is to inspire people to develop a personal practice, with a slow flow yoga sequence, that we take home, then we gather every week as a team in a theme class, by the poetic title of our teachings; We learn together the unlimited lessons of the practice.
