The Name of The Skin

Lesson 33

*Community yoga Mangawhai

Developing a personal practice .

"I’m an adaptable nomad...my roots are inside of me." ― Julie Delpy
“Each of us speaks, moves, thinks, and feels in a different way, each according to the image of himself that he has built up over the years”. ― Moshe Feldenkrais

More than flattened cells that covers our physicality, the skin is full of culture and history, It is a sign of differentiation and therefore it has a mental representation.

In tomorrow’s practice, we are going to focus on the idea of ourselves.

Recognizing the mental picture of who we think we are, and how this is interpreted in the unique way that we move.

By observing the breathing, and the sensations during movement will draw our portrait.

We are going to feel the silhouette and texture as if it were the surface of our self-image, a point of distinction (sensitive) and contact (sensible).

Touching with our intention the outer layer that guards the integrity of our identity and the awakened shape of our dreams.

Class starts at 6:30 pm, every Tuesday at the Anglican Church in Mangawhai, please arrive at least 5 minutes before.

Entry: Koha

*Community yoga is all about sharing. it is for everybody willing to explore; The aim is to inspire people to develop a personal practice, with a slow flow yoga sequence, that we take home, then we gather every week as a team in a theme class, by the poetic title of our teachings; We learn together the unlimited lessons of the practice.
